Mystic River Drawbridge Lecture

Groton Town Historian James Streeter will present “Mystic River Bridges – Past and Present” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, in the parish house of the Mystic Congregation Church.The program is part of the Mystic River Historical Society’s monthly lecture series and is being co-sponsored with the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce as part of the centennial celebration of the Mystic drawbridge.

The bridge will be 100 years old on July 19, 2022.

A native of Groton, Streeter is the author and co-author of six books on Groton history. He is a member of the board of directors of the Mystic historical society and a former mayor of the Town of Groton.The lecture is free to society members. A $5 donation is suggested for nonmembers.

The doors open at 7 p.m. for refreshments and mingling. The lecture will begin at 7:30 p.m.
